Battle of the fans! We wanted to know which Pilgrimage 2017 artist y’all had seen the most and your responses exceeded our expectations. One fan had seen The Revivalists over 20 times, another had seen The Avett Brothers 48 times, and another had seen Better Than Ezra 76 times. However, our Pilgrimage 2017 Super Fan saw Eddie Vedder over 85 times! We’d like to introduce you to super fan...Tracy Deaver!

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you making the Pilgrimage from?

Tracy: I am a librarian, proposal writer, and concert fanatic from Madison, AL. I've been going to various concerts for years, mainly with my sister-in-law, my daughter, and my niece. We get a few shows here in the Huntsville area, but for the most part I have to travel to see my favorite bands. Pearl Jam is by far my favorite live band, and I have seen them over 85 times. The Pilgrimage Festival has been on my radar the last couple of years, but as soon as I saw that Eddie Vedder was playing, I was in! I bought my tickets the first day they went on sale! We are making this a fun family weekend!

Q: When was the first time you saw Eddie Vedder?

Tracy: Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, NC, on Oct 4, 1996. I went with my sister-in-law, Rhonda and it was the beginning of our many fun Pearl Jam road trips. I will never forget how cold it was! I also realized at that show how tuned in the fans are to the band and Eddie in particular.

Eddie asked the crowd to take two steps back, and counted it off. We were up in the bleachers and it was crazy to see the mass of people on the field take two steps back at Eddie's request.

Q: Do you have a favorite Eddie Vedder show?

Tracy: Two of the best concerts I ever attended were Eddie Vedder’s solo shows on June 17 and 18, 2009 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. My favorite songs were "Throw Your Arms Around Me," "Poor Girl," "Trouble,” "Drifting," "Far Behind," and most of all "Arc" which is just beautiful live. I can't wait to see Eddie solo again!

Q: Which song(s) are you looking forward to hearing Eddie Vedder perform live at Pilgrimage?

Tracy: I am looking forward to hearing “Throw Your Arms Around Me,” “Trouble,” “Comeback,” “Light Years,” “Arc,” and anything off the Into the Wild soundtrack. I want to hear all of them!! Can he play for 3 hours? :)

Q: Besides Eddie Vedder, which other artist(s) are you looking forward to seeing?

Tracy: Besides Eddie, I am looking forward to Better Than Ezra (one of my favorite bands of all time). I have seen them many times and they are always great! (Please play “Cry in the Sun!”) I’m also looking forward to seeing Amanda Shires, Fitz and the Tantrums, Ryan Adams, Shovels and Rope, The Avett Brothers, and Langhorne Slim. I can’t wait to make the Pilgrimage. It is great to have such a great festival in the South and to get to see such great acts close to home! Thanks!
